Have you ever played the whispering game? Just like the "Telephone Game", you whisper a secret in the ear of another and wait for them to share what they heard to someone else. Often there becomes a distortion of the original words and the words shared to the final person are not the same as the original.
As human beings we so easily distort what we hear, see and say, as we disburse it to others. Too many times, the distortion can recreate a truth into a lie. A lie then carries the forward motion for it seems to be accepted so readily.
Proverbs 14:5 An honest witness does not deceive, but a false witness pours out lies.
Initially, there may not be an intention to change a truth to a falsehood. (Funny, how the word "falsehood" seems so much less impactful than the word "lie".) Yet, it is done with little concern for the consequence of the "re-arrangement of truth".
We know that this will increase as the world pushes towards the resolution of humanity. We also know that the enemy of our heart and soul, loves to distort the truth of Heaven to maintain his purpose of hell. When lies rule the life, the inheritance of satan also rules your life. Lies are the native language of satan.
John 8:43 "Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you are unable to accept My message. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires.He was a murderer from the beginning,refusing to uphold
the truth,because there is no truth in him.When he lies,he speaks his native language, because he is a liar and the father of lies.45 But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me!… " So says Jesus
I challenge you today, do not conform to the society and culture of the world and use it's native language. Use the language of the TRUTH and THE WAY, Jesus. His language is pure. In Him there is no deceit, no falsehoods, no lies!
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
He dwells in you and will be with you! When you spend time in His word and in His Spirit, you know who He is! You will know his character, you will recognize falsehoods of society and even you will allow yourself to be convicted by Holy Spirit when you distort a truth to make you look better or feel more comfortable in a situation.
Just a thought as I contemplate the lies swirling around us in culture and even in some places of worship.
